Wasanbon sugar production in Awa Province began over two hundred years ago in 1776 (Anei 5). It was introduced to Kamiita Town through the dedicated efforts of a young man named Tokiya Maruyama, who wished for the prosperity of his homeland. Later, with the support of the Hachisuka Domain, Awa Wasanbon sugar’s reputation spread throughout Japan.
At Okada Sugar Factory, we preserve the traditional handmade methods and continue to produce natural flavors using the same techniques from two hundred years ago.
We invite you to taste Awa Wasanbon sugar, which conveys nature’s warmth, blessings, and flavors directly through our fingertips.
